Body Therapist
A Psychology degree from PUC/São Paulo paired with
a sound academic background in dance have enabled Bia to develop
a body therapy work throughout her career that qualifies her to
apply distinct techniques. She has been placing special emphasis
to psycophysical integration since 1978.
She has been dedicating her efforts to corrective gymnastics exercises, developing special techniques for relaxation, massage, breathing, expression and body consciousness techniques. In this area, she has also associated dance with body therapy.
Bia has been working as a body therapist since 1972, having opened her studio - The Estúdio Bia Ocougne - located in an elegant district of the city. There, she gives regular gymnastics and dance classes, including Indian, Balinese, flamenco, contemporary and belly dance, facial exercises courses, physical exercises for pregnant women and babies and also dispenses personal care. Outside her studio, a few major projects carried out by Bia Ocougne are prominent: gymnastics and dance classes in New York, (December 86 to March 87); Assistant Professor to Ivaldo Bertazzo in São Paulo (1977/83) and to Odete Flarks (1970/73); several special courses for companies, institutions, groups, etc. in São Paulo, inland and locations in other Brazilian states.
She has created the Integrative Movements®, a series that acts as a stimulant to flexibility, vitality and tonus of the body, through physical exercises and dances, in addition to relieving stress through massage and breathing..
